About
I am an environmental biotechnologist specializing in sustainable wastewater treatment, sorption science, biochar technology, phytoremediation, and bioremediation. I hold a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. My doctoral focuses on developing engineered biochars and predictive adsorption models to remove emerging aquatic contaminants. Notably, I developed the “Theory of Pore Conflation” and “Shubhjyot’s Equation” to describe dynamic pore evolution and time-dependent sorption processes.
With professional experience spanning roles as an Assistant Professor, Senior Research Fellow (MAHAJYOTI), and Research Assistant (DST-PURSE), I have cultivated deep expertise in laboratory research, analytical instrumentation, and academic instruction. Beyond active research, I serve as the Lead Guest Editor for Bioresources and Bioprocessing and regularly peer-review for high-impact journals including Agricultural Water Management, Applied Surface Science Advances, and Scientific Reports. I am committed to advancing circular bioeconomies and bridging the gap between fundamental environmental research and real-world industrial applications.
