Dr Rajshree B. Jotania was born and raised in India. She obtained B.Sc. (Physics) in 1985 and M.Sc. in 1987. She worked as Junior Research fellow (1987-1989) under DAE- BRNS project and obtained Ph.D. degree in 1992 from Saurashtra University, Rajkot, India
