I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Forestry, focusing on the "Impact Assessment of the Van Gujjars on the forests of the Tarai region in Uttarakhand". My academic background includes a post-graduation degree in Environmental Science with a specialization in Natural Resource Management. During my master's program, I conducted a dissertation that explored the perceptions of the Jaunsari tribes regarding climate change in the Chakrata Region.
In my current research, I am dedicated to evaluating the influence of the Van Gujjars, a semi-nomadic tribe, on forest resources in the Tarai region. Specifically, I am investigating their forest dependency and the patterns of forest utilization. This research aims to provide valuable insights into the interactions between indigenous communities and forest ecosystems, shedding light on sustainable resource management practices and conservation efforts in the region.
