About

Presently, I am a Professor in School of Environmental Sciences, JNU, New Delhi. Earlier I was a scientist in an public funded Indian Research Laboratory i.e. CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi (http://192.168.1.18/profileupdate/ScientistDetails.aspx?id=7). My scientific pursuit involves studying heavy metal induced oxidative stress in plants and particularly in important crops and the related biochemistry and physiology, Enhancement of Fe and Zn uptake in rice plants and monitoring of Fluoride content in groundwater, soil and plant continuum. Presently, I am engaged in uptake, toxicity of Arsenic in rice plant and various strategies for its amelioration.
