About

Sudip Kumar Samanta received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree (1993) in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University, Bangalore, the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree (1995) in Design and Production Engg. from NIT, Durgapur and the Ph.D. degree in (2011) "Multi Phase Flow Numerical Modeling for Simulation of the Injection Stage of Power Injection Molding (PIM)" from IIT, Kharagpur. Since 1995, Dr. Samanta has been working with CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur, India, the only apex laboratory for mechanical engineering in Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Dr. Samanta's research interests are in - Near Net Shape Manufacturing (Melting and Casting of Metal, Power Injection Molding, Solidification Simulation). Dr. Samanta was a recipient of JICA Fellowship from TNIRI, Sendai, Japan (1998-1999), DAAD Fellowship from RWTH Aaachen, Germany (2004-2005). Dr. Samanta is Fellow, Institute of Engineers (India), (2020).
