About
Dr. K. G. Sudhier PhD., is an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Library and Information Science, School of Communication, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur. He has more than two decades of teaching, research, professional and administrative experience at the University level (formerly in the University of Kerala).
Throughout his academic career, he has pursued regular full-time education and have consistently secured First Class and above in all the courses. He holds dual PG degrees in Physics (AMU, Aligarh) and Library & Information Science (University of Kerala), PhD (LIS) and has qualified the UGC-NET and JRF in LIS.
He is an eminent Library & Information Science professional, educator, and researcher with over 28 years of experience in the field. His distinguished career spans roles as a professional librarian, faculty member, and researcher, contributing significantly to the advancement of Librarianship and Information Science.
He has extensive graduate and postgraduate teaching experience in LIS and has guided MPhil and PhD scholars at multiple universities, with Nine PhDs successfully awarded (submitted one). Dr. Sudhier’s contributions to the profession reflect his commitment to excellence in librarianship, education, and research.
He was the Principal Investigator of the DST-NSTMIS major project of the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of S&T, Govt. of India and Project Director of ICSSR funded project. He is a member, PG Board of studies (BoS) in Library & Information Science at the, University of Kerala, Madras University and Central University of Tamil Nadu.
As a prolific writer, he has published and presented over 250 research articles in scholarly journals, seminars, and conferences, contributed book chapters, and authored/edited five books. He has chaired technical sessions; delivered invited talks; and presented papers at national and international forums, conferences and seminars. Additionally, he served as a member of Editorial boards and a Reviewer for several academic journals. Dr Sudhier also a life member of almost all major Library Professional Associations in India and at present the Vice President of IASLIC, Kolkata. He is a very active academician with various contributions in LIS domain as Author, Reviewer, Editor and Resource Person in many scholarly events and groups.
Additionally, Dr. Sudhier has contributed as a resource person for UGC-MMTC programs and has been honored as a President Scout Awardee, conferred by the Hon. President of India. He was also awarded the Best Teacher Award 2021, Madras Library Association, Chennai and Best Library Professional Award- 2024 instituted by the Alumni Association of the Department of Library & Information Science (AADLIS), University of Kerala.
