About
Dr. Shailendra Kumar is working as Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat, Gujarat, India.
His broad domain of research is manufacturing. He is mainly interested in additive manufacturing (AM), applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in sheet metal forming, non-traditional machining, and CAM.
More than 200 research papers published in reputed International Journals and Conferences are at his credit. Three books published by Springer are also at his credit. He also organised six National Conferences and two International Conference in the domain of manufacturing.
He has completed four National projects (funded by SERB, DST, & MHRD); and one International project (funded by Kingdom of Sadaui Arabia, Riyad) amounting more than Rs. 400.00 Lakh. He has also completed consultancy work of more than Rs. 8.0 Lakh.
He has also visited many countries including USA, UK, UAE, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, France, Switzerland, Germany, Japan etc. for presentation of his research findings in various reputed International conferences and chairing sessions. He has also delivered many expert lectures in various training programmes and conferences.
Till date, 12 students have already completed their doctoral degree (PhD) and 54 students have completed their M.Tech. dissertations under his supervision in the domain of additive manufacturing, sheet metal forming and non-traditional machining.
