About
I am currently working as Professor and Director of Amity Centre for Translational Research, Amity University.
I am an cellular immunologist and working on Translational Immunology specific domain.
My major research area is to develop Immunotherapeutic approaches for the management of persistent Respiratory Infections and Cancer. Within frame of this-
• Primary focus of my lab is to unravel therapeutic potential of macrophage against solid and established tumors and their potential involvement in various cancer directed interventions like radio / immune therapies.
• Second major focus of my group is to understand how certain pathogens like H. pylori, Chlamydia and Mycobacteria polarize M1 effector macrophages towards M2 phenotype during persistent infections and sensitize host for cancer development.
• Within frame of above, my laboratory is now exploring strategies for stabilizing M1 phenotype in the host and also analyzing the impact of changing macrophage index with M1 macrophage on mitigation of persistent infection driven cancer progression
