About
Dr. Ajit Behera currently working as Asst. Professor in the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He completed his PhD from IIT-Kharagpur in 2016. He received the National "IEI Young Engineer Award" in 2022, "Yuva Rattan Award" in 2020, "C.V. Raman Award" in 2019 and "young faculty award" in 2017. His area of research is high temperature materials, surface engineering, NiTi shape memory alloy, Thin film, Additive Manufacturing, Characterization of materials and Industrial Solid waste. He has published more than 210 publications including Book, Book Chapter, Journals. Five PhD students awarded under his supervision and more than 10 PhD students from his institute/outside the institute are working on different research projects with him. He has successfully completed 25 industrial/research projects and organized 12 industrial-academia collaborating conferences. He is listed in top 2% scientist list in the world ranking from year 2023. He is the Director of AMPRE ENGG. PVT. LTD. (https://ampre-engg.com/) which target is to design the materials for the aero-industries using ‘additive manufacturing’ technique. Dr. Ajit's research has been funded by different government agencies such as Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), General Electric Company (GE-energy), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), and many Private agencies.
