PhD in Microbiology with research focus on cellular senescence, immunosenescence, and phytomedicinal interventions in ageing biology. My doctoral research at Shoolini University specifically investigated the molecular mechanisms of senescence in C2C12 myoblasts and RAW 264.7 macrophages using oxidative (H₂O₂) and inflammatory (LPS) stressors. I also utilized in vivo models of accelerated ageing such as D-galactose-induced ageing in mice. During my doctoral research, I worked on multiple projects (DST/SERB/ICMR) ranging from colitis-based studies to age-dependent immunomodulation and the impact of high glucose on macrophages. Additionally, I gained experience in probiotic fermentation and fortification for functional food preparation using Himalayan medicinal plants. I developed and characterized cellular senescence models across various cell lines including 3T3-L1, C2C12, and RAW 264.7. I have also differentiated myocytes to myotubules, as well as assessed paracrine effects of senescent cells on cancer progression. My technical skills include:• Mammalian cell culture • Flow cytometry (Annexin V/PI, TMRE, DCFH-DA)• Senescence development and detection• Immunofluorescence microscopy • qPCR and ELISA for gene/protein expression analysis• Animal tissue dissection and isolation of peritoneal macrophages and splenocytes• Molecular docking and network pharmacology (AutoDock Vina, CB-Dock, Cytoscape, STRING)• Probiotic fermentation technology• Image analysis (ImageJ/Fiji, CellProfiler)• Image creation (Biorender, Canva and Microsoft powerpoint) I am currently enhancing my expertise in advanced flow cytometry, western blotting, and confocal microscopy, and plan to learn RNA sequencing analysis. Academic achievements include qualifying national (CSIR-NET) and state-level (HP-SET) exams, and receiving the Shoolini University Junior Research Fellowship. Currently appointed as Assistant Professor, teaching postgraduate students biochemistry, molecular biology, and industrial microbiology. Actively seeking postdoctoral research positions in cellular senescence and ageing biology.
