About
Dr. M.Sowjanya obtained her B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from KLCE, Nagarjuna University, M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). She obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from JNTUH for her research work in ‘Planar Flow Melt Spinning Process’ a collaborative research between Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) and DRDO (DMRL, Hyderabad). She developed 5 numerical Models to simulate the ‘Melt spinning’ process. She is the recipient of 'Excellent Paper Award' (ICMO, 2013 held at New Delhi), ‘Best Paper Award’ (TIME, 2016 held at Hyderabad), ‘Speaker of the Day Award’ (ThermaComp2018 held at IISc Bangalore) and ‘Best Paper Award’ (ICE3MT 2020 held at Hyderabad). Received Best paper Award for women researcher for the presentation at AIMTDR2021 conducted by PSG college of Engineering and technology, Coimbatore. She presented Invited Talks at an International Conference on Production and Design Engineering held at Berlin, Germany (2016), presented Invited talks and Chair for technical sessions in the International Conferences held at M.G University, Kerala (2016, 2018 and 2020). She is a recognized reviewer of International journals (Elsevier) and International conferences (held at Japan, Ukraine, UK etc.). She has more than 20 publications in high quality International Journals and conferences and 4 chapters to her credit. She was also granted 2 IPR on Industrial Designs. She has a teaching experience of 22 years and Industry experience of 2 years. She is a Life Member of professional bodies ISTE, ISHMT,IEI and ISME. Her research areas include Heat transfer analysis of real time problems, Insulation materials, Non-Conventional Energy, Air Pollution Control. She has expertise in the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for Heat transfer, Rapid solidification and single or Multi phase flow simulations.
