About
Vishal Tripathi is working as an Assistant professor of Biotechnology at the Graphic Era University, India. He has previously worked as Post Doctoral Researcher at the Freie Universität Berlin working in the area of soil microplastic pollution and its environmental impacts. He completed his Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology from the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His research interest lies in restoration and management of polluted lands and understanding the plant- microbe-pollutant interactions under changing climate to develop future remediation strategies. Currently he is working towards multipurpose remediation and management of contaminated and degraded lands for sustainable crop production. He is also interested in developing suitable framework policies for the management of polluted lands in developing countries.
He is an expert reviewer for several international journals namely Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group), Biomass and Bioenergy (Elsevier), Agronomy for Sustainable Development (Springer), Restoration Ecology (Wiley), Biodegradation (Springer), Environmental Management (Springer), PLOS One (PLOS), Energy, Ecology & Environment (Springer). He is also a guest editor for the journal Land (MDPI) on the special issue of Restoring Degraded Lands for Attaining UN-SDGs. He is a member of the Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM), IUCN and involved in various Thematic Groups of CEM like (i) Ecosystem Restoration (ii) Resilience (iii) Ecosystem Services (iv) Agriculture Ecosystem and (v) Sustainable Use and Management of Ecosystem. He is actively involved with international organizations/agencies like International Hexachlororcyclohexane and Pesticide association, The world Academy of Sciences and Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative.
