B. S. Harish obtained his B.E in Electronics and Communication (2002), M.Tech in Networking and Internet Engineering (2004) from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science (2011); thesis entitled “Classification of Large Text Data” from University of Mysore. He is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science & Engineering, JSS Science & Technology University, Mysuru. He was invited as a Visiting Researcher to DIBRIS - Department of Informatics, Bio Engineering, Robotics and System Engineering, University of Genova, Italy from May – July 2016.
He delivered various technical talks at National and International Conferences. Invited as a resource person to deliver various technical talks on Data Mining, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Soft Computing. He is also serving and served as a reviewer for National, International Conferences and Journals. He published more than 50 International reputed peer reviewed journals and conferences proceedings. He successfully executed AICTE-RPS project which was sanctioned by AICTE, Government of India. He also served as a secretary, CSI Mysore chapter. He is a Member IEEE (93068688), Life Member CSI (09872), Life Member INSTICC (12844), Life Member Institute of Engineers and Life Member ISTE.
Awards:
• Core Member in Melinda – Gates Foundation Project. The project is jointly collaborated with Quinnipiac University, USA, JSS University, Mysore and JSS Science & Technology University, Mysore. Project Title: Discovery and Translational Sciences, Global Libraries, November 2016 – To till Date, Grant Amount: $100, 000.
• Awarded 1st Prize in “Sclera Recognition Benchmarking Competition” organized by The 10th IAPR International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB-2017), October 1 – October 4, 2017, Denver, Colorado, USA.
• Awarded 1st Prize in Segmentation and 2nd Prize in Recognition in Sclera Segmentation Benchmarking Competition organized by The 9th IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB-2016), June 13 – June 19, 2016, Sweden.
• Awarded “Best Paper Award” during IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Applications (ICKEA 2016), 28-30 September, 2016, Singapore.
