Dr. Preeti Dhar is a professor of chemistry at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and has done post-doctoral research at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Dhar’s research interests are in medicinal, synthetic and bio organic chemistry. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Phytochemistry, Food Biophysics, Helvetica Chimica Acta, Polymer Preprints, Journal of Essential oil Research, Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Our Earth, Journal of Undergraduate Research, Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Journal of Chemical Education. She has also presented her research at national and international conferences including the annual conferences of the American Chemical Society, Council for Undergraduate Research, The Materials Research Society and the American Society of Pharmacognosy. She recently wrote two books entitled, “The Chemistry of Chlorosulfonyl Isocyanate” and “Nobel prize winners in chemistry 1901-2009”.
