About
Dr. Hanumanthachar Joshi born in Ballari, Karnataka, completed his graduation from
TVM College of Pharmacy, Ballari, Post graduation from KLES College of Pharmacy, Belagavi
and doctorate from Division of Pharm. Sciences, Guru jabmheshwar University of science and
technology, Hisar, Haryana. His research interests are neuroscience, behavioral
psychopharmacology, herbal psychotropics, standardization of phytopharmaceuticals, Alzheimer’s
and Parkinson’s disease. He has 19 years of teaching and research experience. Published more
than 217 research and review papers in scientific journals and presented 109 papers at various
national and international conferences. Editorial board member for international and national
journals. Recognized as the most valuable reviewer by Lancet, British Journal of Pharmacology,
neuroscience journal. Reviewer for 92 international and national journals, scientific boards,
Viz. Alzheimer’s disease international, UK, Alzheimer’s Association, USA, USA-ISRAEL Bi-
national Science Foundation, Israel, etc. Received Sanshodhana deekshit award, Mother
Theresa award, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam award, young scientist award, young investigator
scholarship award, travel grant/ fellowship awards from National institute of health, National
institute of aging, Alzheimer’s association, USA, Alzheimer’s drug discovery foundation, UK,
International brain research organization, Geneva, etc.
He has Received 13 best research paper awards at international / national conferences. Authored
three books on management and treatment of behavior disorders, MCQs for pharmacy students,
microbiology and biotechnology, Living With Dementia. He is a Resource person for various
conferences, symposiums, workshops, in India and abroad. Has Received grants from Indian
Council of Medical Research, Vision group of science and technology, Rajiv Gandhi University of
health sciences, Karnataka for projects and conducting conferences. Has successfully submitted
application for Indian Patent and US patent.
Has worked as research associate, Cadila health care ltd., Ahmedabad. As junior scientist at
National Brain Research Center, India. Member of various organizations, President, Alzheimer’s
and related disorders society of India, Mysore chapter, academic council, Rajiv Gandhi University
of health sciences, Karnataka, Ex vice president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Mysuru
branch, Member, Karnataka state pharmacy council, Board of studies, Member, board of
examining authority, drugs control department. Member, syllabus revision committee, Pharmacy

19), RGUHS. Currently member, Faculty of Pharmacy, RGUHS, Bengaluru.
He is currently working as Principal, Sarada Vilas College of Pharmacy, Mysore since
2009. Countries visited 37.– USA, Germany, Demark, Canada, China, France, Gulf, Hong Kong
,Italy, UK, Spain, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Indonesia, Srilanka, Thailand etc. His hobbies
include medical astrology, classical music and sport
