Ajad Singh's educational journey began in a village in Haryana's Bhiwani District, where he attended a local government school. His commitment to education led him to complete his matriculation from this school, laying the groundwork for his academic pursuits.

Following matriculation, Ajad enrolled at Maharshi Dayanand University, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, successfully graduating in 1998. Undeterred by challenges, he continued his educational ascent, earning a Master of Arts in Economics from the same university in 2000. Intrigued by the intricate dynamics of Haryana's economic landscape, Ajad delved deeper into academia, completing a Master of Philosophy in Economics at Chaudhary Devi Lal University in 2008. His M.Phil. research centered on understanding the role of the organized financial sector in agricultural diversification in Haryana.

With a thirst for knowledge and research, Ajad pursued a Doctor of Philosophy at Panjab University, culminating in his successful completion of his doctoral thesis, titled "Employment Scenario in the Changing Structure of Haryana's GSDP: 1993-94 to 2017-18," in November 2022.

Ajad's academic journey extends beyond degrees, encompassing various roles in the educational landscape. Starting as a Guest Faculty in Distance Education for Post Graduation classes at Maharshi Dayanand University from 2000 to 2006, he then transitioned to an Assistant Professor of Economics at Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University, where he served from 2006 to 2019. Currently, since 2019, he holds the esteemed position of Associate Professor of Economics at the same institution.

In addition to his teaching roles, Ajad actively contributed to significant research projects, showcasing his proficiency in economic analysis. His involvement in projects such as the Bio Fuel Study in 2009, Food Processing Study in 2020, and Study of Organic Cotton in 2021 exemplify his commitment to practical research applications.

Ajad's research interests revolve around NSSO and ASI unit-level data analysis, emphasizing econometric applications. His extensive publication record includes joint papers on diverse topics such as human development progress in Kerala, labor force participation in Gujarat, and trends in the labor force participation rate in Rajasthan, among others.

Affiliated with renowned institutions like Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University, and actively engaged with organizations such as the Institute of Development and Communication (IDC), Chandigarh, National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Delhi, and the Indian Association for Research in National Income and Wealth (IARNIW), Ajad Singh's academic and professional journey epitomizes his dedication to comprehending and contributing to India's economic and developmental landscape, with a particular emphasis on Haryana.
