About
Professor Kulriya currently serves as a Dean, School of Engineering, and Professor of Physics at the School of Physical Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Before his tenure at JNU, he spent 17 years as a Scientist-F at the Materials Science Group, Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) in New Delhi, India. He also worked as an Engineer at Moserbaer India Ltd. He holds a PhD in Physics and an M. Tech. in Solid State Materials from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He was awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Fellowship by the U.S. Department of State, conducting research at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, USA. With a citation index (h-factor) of 36, supported by over 4000 citations, Professor Kulriya has significantly impacted the field. He has published over 170 peer-reviewed articles and delivered seminars at ion beam institutions in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Singapore, and the USA. He has also served as the editor of the prestigious International Journal of Energy Research (Impact Factor 5.164). Notably, he led the establishment of an in-situ X-ray Diffractometer facility in a particle accelerator beamline, a unique facility internationally. He has advised the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the formulation of the coordinated research project on “facilitating access to accelerators” and is a member of various professional societies, including the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). He also served as a Joint Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee at the Indian Physics Association and the Executive Committee at the IIT Delhi Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Committee to “Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure (FIST) in Indian Higher Education Institutions, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Recently, he was elected to the Executive Committee at the Society for Materials Chemistry. His research focuses on materials for energy, especially understanding the ion-matter interaction in advanced ceramics, high entropy alloys, and their performance under extreme conditions.
