About

My research focus was development of tissue graft scaffolds from gall bladder (cholecyst) of farm animals and fabricated 'Cholederm' for dermal applications. It promotes faster healing of skin wounds with minimal scarring, including chronic wounds like diabatic/leprosy ulcers. The 'CholeDermR' is the first indigenous 'Class D' biomedical device of animal origin in India, that satisfied all statutory regulations of the Central Drug Standards Control Organization (Government of India) for manufacture and sale in India.

I retired from the active service of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences (https://www.sctimst.ac.in/, an institution of national importance) in February, 2026, as Scientist-G (Experimental Pathology) and Head of the Department of Applied Biology.
