About

Research Interest:

My scientific interests include metamorphic petrology and monazite chronology. My research goal was to determine when the Eastern Ghat Granulite Belt collided with the Bastar craton. I studied monazite petrochronology in the Koraput anorthosite pluton of domain 2 of the Eastern Ghats Granulite Belt in India, as well as the paleoproterozoic metasedimentary unit at the eastern Bastar craton edge. Modeling phase equilibria in metamorphic rocks is something I'm quite interested in. I am currently employed as an assistant professor at Arya Vidyapeeth College in Guwahati, where I teach undergraduate students in the Department of Geology. My current research focuses on the tectonothermal evolution of metasediments in the trans-Himalaya region of Arunachal Pradesh. I am collaborating with the Geochemistry lab at NGRI (Hyderabad), and NIT Durgapur on this project.
