About

Dr. Amreen Taj is currently serving as an Assistant Librarian at Yenepoya Central Library, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore, Karnataka. She earned her Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, and holds a Master’s degree in the same discipline from the University of Mysore.

She began her professional career as a Library Trainee at the esteemed Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), and later worked as a Project Assistant for NAAC and NIRF-related projects at the INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar. Dr. Taj has successfully qualified both the UGC-NET and the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) in Library and Information Science. Additionally, she has completed a Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA).

With a keen interest in teaching and learning, she has published over 15 research papers, book chapters, and books in UGC-CARE-listed, Web of Science, and Scopus-indexed journals, as well as in various national and international conferences.

Her research interests include Digital Libraries, Digitization of Library Resources, Resource Discovery and Access, Long-Term Digital Preservation, LIS Metrics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Web 2.0 Technologies, and Scholarly Communication.
