About
Dr (Professor) Madhu Sudan Agrawal has been the President of Urological Society of India 2019-20, and is the founder President of SAARC Association of Urological Surgeons 2019-22.
He graduated in 1979, as University topper with multiple gold medals, and distinction/honours in all subjects. He completed his Surgery and Urology training at AIIMS, New Delhi and SMS, Jaipur in 1989 and joined as faculty at SN Medical College, Agra, until obtaining voluntary retirement as Professor in 2009. He currently holds the chair at the department of Urology, Pushpanjali Hospital and Research Centre, Agra, India.
He has been a member of editorial board of Indian J Urology, and is a reviewer for multiple national & international Journals. He has nearly 80 publications including several chapters for textbooks, and has edited several reference books. He has presented more than 200 papers and has received multiple best paper and poster awards. He has delivered more than 300 guest lectures, including multiple orations, in national & international conferences.
He is the recipient of PV Rao Oration 2006, PN Kataria Oration 2010, Marudhara Oration 2013, Rangandha Rao Oration SOGUS 2016, President’s Gold Medal 2016, Urology Gold Medal 2021, & Himadri Sarkar Oration 2021, of Urological Society of India. He has delivered UAA Lecture EAU Meeting 2017, Sri Lanka Association of Urological Surgeons Lecture 2018, USI Lecture Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons meeting 2019, USI Lecture Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons meeting 2019, and UAA lecture Hong Kong Urology Association meeting 2019.
He is one of the pioneers in Endourology in India since 1980’s, popularizing innovative technology including Tubeless PCNL, Mini-PCNL with Laser etc. He has conducted many operative workshops as faculty, regularly organizes national and international live operative workshops and conferences, and runs a training program in Endourology for national and international trainees at his centre.
