About

Santosh Kumar Jha is a crafts and design thinker, researcher, professional, innovator, and educator. He holds tripal Master's qualification- (1.) post-graduated in Crafts Product Design from the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur; (2.) MBA in Marketing from the Pondicherry Central University; (3.) MA Economics from the Annamalai University; and Ph.D. in Culture Studies (Crafts Product Design) from the Utkal University of Culture Bhubaneswar.

Jha is known for his high impact crafts investigations, interventions (craft-product design), research, education and documentation as well as for his interactive arguments towards the sustenance of traditional crafts, indigenous knowledge databases, and the status of artisan welfare in the present era of consumerism. Being an active craft and design professional, Jha is active in different South Asian countries (i.e., Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, etc.) with his vision and approaches​. His contributions are consistently appreciated by the communities across disciplines. These days, Jha is contributing to design education and administration at the Leather Goods and Accessory Design Department of the Footwear Design and Development Institute, India.

(4.) Winner, Oral Health Slogan Award' 2016, awarded by the Ministry of Health, Government of India.
(5.) Winner, Best Faculty Award' 2018, awarded by the Indian Academic Researchers Association.
