About
The Mosley lab interrogates dynamic cellular processes through the development and application of quantitative proteomics approaches. We are especially interested in quantitative analysis of the fundamental pathways that control cellular signaling in the fundamental processes of RNA transcription, RNA processing, and protein folding working in multiple model systems which span species and disease models. Recent work has had a strong focus in the areas of neurodegenerative disease and cancer related signaling. Dr. Mosley is an expert in biochemistry, molecular biology, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, genetics, and computational biology, and has successfully applied these approaches to numerous independent and collaborative projects.
Dr. Mosley received her B.S. in Biology and Philosophy from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. She then move to the University of Kentucky School of Medicine were she did her PhD studies with Sabire Ӧzcan on glucose regulation of gene transcription with a focus on the insulin gene. Amber then worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Michael Washburn at Jerry Workman at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research where she began her training in quantitative proteomics and applied this technology to the study of basic transcription mechanisms including the control of RNA Polymerase II phosphorylation. Dr. Mosley has been a faculty member at the Indiana University School of Medicine since 2010 and is currently a Professor of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacology with a secondary appointment in Medical and Molecular Genetics. Dr. Mosley also serves as the Director of the IU School of Medicine Center for Proteome Analysis, the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center Proteomics Core, and as the codirector of the Indiana Diabetes Center Data and Analytics Core.
