About
Currently doing my PhD at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf as part of the Institute for Synaptic Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Prof. Thomas Oertner. My research focuses on the interaction between astrocytes and neurons in regulating synaptic function.
I have a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Aveiro and a Master's in Neurobiology from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. Within the area of neurosciences, I am particularly intrigued by the communication between astrocytes and infiltrating immune cells, as I believe this could influence the outcomes of pathological conditions by regulating neuroinflammation.
