About

Dr. Dipanwita Banerjee is a Senior Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata — one of India's premier regional cancer centres. She holds an MCh in Gynaecological Oncology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and an MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER), Kolkata.

She is the recipient of the John N Kapoor Travelling Fellowship, through which she completed advanced training in robotic surgery at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Centre, New York. She is an IFCPC IARC Certified Colposcopist and has served as Site Principal Investigator for the Serum Institute HPV vaccine trial.

Her clinical expertise spans radical and reconstructive surgery for cervical, ovarian, uterine, vulval, and vaginal cancers; robotic and minimally invasive gynaecological oncology surgery; cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC; colposcopy and cervical cancer prevention; and oncofertility counselling for women of reproductive age.

She holds leadership positions as Chair of the Journal Club at the Asian Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ASGO), Chair of the Oncology Sub-Committee at the Bengal Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (BOGS), and Joint Secretary of the Asia Oceania Research Organisation on Genital Infections and Neoplasia (AOGIN India). She is a Fellow of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FICOG).

Her research spans gynaecological oncology surgery outcomes, HPV vaccination, colposcopy, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and cervical cancer prevention. She has over 35 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals including The Lancet Oncology and the International Journal of Cancer, and has contributed to multiple book chapters and review articles.
