About
Dr. Syed Shahabuddin did his M.Sc. in Materials Chemistry in 2011 from Jamia Millia Islamia, India. He has been awarded Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry from University of Malaya, Malaysia, in September 2016. He was an RA under High Impact Research (HIR) grant from October 2013-June 2016. He has served as Assistant Manager in Samtel Avionics Limited for almost three years in research and development of avionics grade displays. Formerly, he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow (senior lecture) at Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET), Sunway University, Malaysia for more than 2 years. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor in Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, and Gujrat. He has published more than 40 research articles in International journals of repute and presented 5 papers in International/National conferences. He has successfully completed two research project as PI and two research project as CO-I whereas he is currently Co-I for 8 running projects with different institutes in Malaysia.He is the member of Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and reviewer of many high impact journals. His current research focus on the synthesis of Nanomaterials, 2D-MXene, Graphene, conducting polymer nanocomposites for water treatment, photocatalysis, supercapacitors, DSSCs, nanofluids for solar thermal applications and phase change materials.
As a material chemist and nanomaterials researcher, he leverage on the synthesis of advanced nanomaterials such as MXenes, graphene, metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, conducting polymers and nanocomposites as his key areas of research. His research focuses on development of simplistic, low-cost nanomaterials for various applied applications. In his research, the synthesised nanomaterials and nanocomposites has been exploited as photocatalysts, adsorbents and additives for waste water treatment, removal of pollutants from waste water and engineering nanofluids for solar thermal applications, respectively. Another primary area of his work is development of biological materials for antibacterial and anticancer applications. Dr. Syed has been collaborating with a various groups of researchers across the various research and teaching universities, research centres, and international researchers to conduct nanomaterials research.
