About
I have a Ph.D. in development of nanomaterial integrated point of care sensors from IIT Roorkee. My research combined interdisciplinary areas of material science and biology with a focus on "Lab to market" technology development. I work on functional nanomaterials responsive to various classes of analytes and further development of on field sensory devices through 3D modelling and rapid prototyping technologies. I work on multiple projects involving development of optical sensors for the detection of clinically relevant analytes, carcinogenic food dyes and environmental pollutants, with a focus of developing compact on field/ point of care devices. I majorly make use of carbon nanomaterials, transition metal chalcogenide nanomaterials, perovskite quantum dots, etc. to target specific analytes. Further, for device development, I incorporate 3D printing and microfluidic technology as well as surface mount devices (SMDs) to develop compact systems. Smartphone-integrated point-of-care devices for analyte detection is another major area of research I am working on for developing affordable and smart solutions.
