About
Dr. Surama Biswas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, Kolkata. She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from MAKAUT, West Bengal, and completed her postdoctoral research at the Allen Discovery Center, Tufts University, under Dr. Michael Levin. Her research lies at the intersection of computational biology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, focusing on gene regulatory network modeling, differential gene expression analysis, biomarker discovery, and integrative analysis of gene expression and biomedical imaging data for disease diagnosis and translational applications, including cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, and neurogenomics. She is a co-inventor of the licensed patent titled “Methods for Modulating the Function of Biological Regulatory Networks in Health and Disease by Exploiting Their Memory Properties,” which investigates how biological regulatory networks can store and use memory to influence tissue patterning, regeneration, and disease regulation.
