About

Dr. R. Sivaraman, working as Associate Professor of mathematics at Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai has more than 27 years of teaching experience. He has obtained Doctor of Science degree from California Public University, Doctor of Mathematics from African Moon University and completed Post Doctoral Research Fellowship from British National University of Queen Mary. He has been conferred with National Award for Popularizing mathematics among masses in 2016 by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He was also conferred with the prestigious Indian National Science Academy Teaching award for the year 2018. He has also received two State Government Best Science Book Awards in 2011 and 2012. For his contributions to mathematics, he has won more than 70 prestigious awards so far. For his extensive research, he was listed in World's Top 2% most influential scientists released by Stanford University and Elsevier publications during 2025.
He has provided more than 500 lectures conveying the beauty, importance and applications of mathematics. He secured All India 27th Rank in the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) Exam in mathematical sciences conducted by IIT Madras with a percentile score of 96.3 in 1997. He successfully cleared National Eligibility Test exam conducted by CSIR in 1999 in the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and NET combined category. He has published more than 300 research papers in mathematics. He is member of Editorial Board for more than ten journals in mathematics. He is Fellow Member of 15 scientific bodies located around the globe. He is life member of American Mathematical Society, London Mathematical Society, Ramanujan Mathematical Society, Indian Mathematical Society.
He was a member of the Textbook Writing Committee, Tamil Nadu School Education Department for preparing revised mathematics textbook for eleventh class and he was chairperson for tenth class mathematics book. He has written 51 books so far (39 in Tamil and 12 in English) upon reaching mathematics among everyone. In view of popularizing mathematics, he writes articles and provides puzzles in famous Newspapers and monthly magazines. For more than two decades, he teaches most deserving and poor students and made their life to have better living. With the help of his students and well wishers he had initiated an exclusive charitable trust “Pie Mathematics Association” being its Founder Trustee since its inception in June 2007. Helping poor and deserving students was his life motto.
