Dr. Gurminder Kaur serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh University, Lucknow, boasting over eight years of extensive experience in research, academics, and industry both nationally and internationally. She has adeptly navigated the realms of education and the corporate sector, showcasing a unique blend of expertise.Dr. Kaur obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Science from the University of Lucknow. Her academic journey took a significant leap when she received the prestigious fellowship from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) to pursue her Doctorate in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou, China, in 2017. This accomplishment was followed by the awarding of the highly coveted National Post Doctoral Fellowship (DST SERB-NPDF) by the Government of India. She utilised this fellowship at the Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University, NOIDA, focusing on the cutting-edge fields of Transcriptomics and Metabolomics. Her academic career includes a tenure as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Bioscience and Technology at Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University. There, she taught various biotechnology courses and guided students in their research endeavors. Dr. Kaur’s scholarly contributions are substantial, with 10 research articles published in high-impact, reputed journals and 10 book chapters in international publication groups. She has also successfully supervised a Ph.D. student whose research focused on “Studies on Water, Salt, and Temperature Stress of Kodo Millet,” marking a significant milestone in her career.In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Kaur has accumulated two years of professional experience in the industry, where she held dual roles in technical support and business development. In these roles, she effectively addressed technical issues and spearheaded strategic initiatives to drive company growth, establishing and nurturing key partnerships.Dr. Kaur is a sought-after speaker, having delivered invited talks at numerous national and international conferences, where she also presented her research findings. Her multidisciplinary research integrates molecular biology with modern biotechnological techniques such as recombinases (Cre/LoxP/Bxb1/Flp-FRT) and the CRISPR/Cas9 system to enhance medicinal and agronomically important crops. Her research interests extend to various omics studies, including genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics of economically significant plants.Dr. Kaur's commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest advancements in education, research, and the corporate world underscores her dedication to her field.
