About
Dr. Z.A. Parray earned his Master's degree in Biotechnology (M.Sc.) from the Department of Biotechnology and completed his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Protein Biochemistry at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc.) at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, one of India's top central universities. His research interests include Protein Dynamics and Folding, Cellular Macromolecular Crowding, and Protein-Drug Interactions. During his Ph.D., he was awarded a Senior Research Fellowship by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in recognition of his research and project work. After completing his Ph.D., he became a Research Associate (RA) at CIRBSc., Jamia Millia Islamia, where he worked for about a year. Dr. Parray is proficient in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Kashmiri, and is noted for his excellent speaking, presenting, and writing skills.
Dr. Parray has authored over 10 first-author publications during his Ph.D. and has contributed to more than 15 publications overall, collaborating with various specialized laboratories. After completing his Ph.D., he applied for three National Award Fellowships: NPDF-SERB, RA-ICMR, and DHR Young Scientist. All three were accepted, and he chose the NPDF (DST-SERB) at IIT Delhi's Hauz Khas campus, the premier institute in India. He recently completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at IIT Delhi (February 2022 to January 2024), where his research focused on Protein Dynamics and Folding in crowded environments, using various fluorescence-based techniques and other thermodynamic binding methods, with an emphasis on Ras-Binding Proteins (Rabs).
Currently, Dr. Parray is an Assistant Professor at Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University) in Ambala, Haryana, India.
