About

Dr. Arindam Dutta is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Energy Management Department at the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Kolkata**, India’s first management institute. An Electrical Engineer by training, he holds a PhD in Energy Engineering from Jadavpur University and has over 18 years of experience spanning academia, research, industry, and consultancy. He is a Certified Energy Auditor and ISO Lead Auditor, with extensive experience in energy management system implementation, compliance auditing, and sustainability assurance. He has been actively involved in research, consultancy, and technical studies with major power and energy sector organizations including Coal India Limited, NTPC, and Power Finance Corporation (PFC), along with other leading public and private sector enterprises in the coal, power, and energy domains.

His areas of expertise include solar energy, coal and thermal power systems, energy forecasting, energy and safety audits, ISO-based energy management systems, power trading, green buildings, sustainability reporting, carbon management, and environmental impact assessment. He has contributed significantly to coal sector energy efficiency studies, thermal power plant performance analysis, and policy-oriented research in collaboration with Coal India and NTPC ecosystems.

Dr. Dutta has authored 30+ research papers and book chapters and has led or contributed to 50+ consultancy and research projects for leading national and international organizations. He is also a Government of India-empaneled energy consultant.
In recognition of his contribution to the energy sector, he received the prestigious “Energy Innovator of the Year – Asia Subcontinent” award from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), USA, in 2015 at Orlando.
