About

Prof. Dr Hemant D Toshikhane is a versatile Dean, Faculty of Ayurved, Parul University. He is the Assessor for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) a constituent of Quality Council of India (QCI). He is one among the members of Technical Advisory Board of Rastriya Ayurved Vidyapeeth (RAV) under Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India. He has worked as a Professorial Chair in Ayurved at Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. During this period, he has designed certificate course in Ayurved for the Faculty of Medical Sciences. He has also delivered guest lectures, has been involved in public health check- up camps at Caribbean. He is a recipient of nearly 7 awards to his remarkable contribution to the science in various National and International platforms.
Prior to this, he was Head of the Department of Sangyaharana (Anaesthesiology in Indian medicine) at KLE University Shri B M Kankanwadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Shahapur Belgaum, Karnataka, India. He did his graduation in Ayurved from Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Hubli, Karnataka, India which is one of the renowned and oldest colleges in Ayurved. He has completed his Post Graduation in Shalyatantra from S.D.M. College of Ayurved, Hassan affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore. He pursued the Ph.D.from TilakAyurved Mahavidyalaya, Maharashtra University, Pune, India.He has completed the MBA from IIBM, Institute of Business Management, Delhi. Yet another feather added to his academic credit is his LLB degree from Parul University.
He has hands on working experience in Causality unit of Shivakrupa Hospital, Hubli. His practical experience in carrying out surgeries is immensely appreciable. His expertise lies in both Ayurved and Allopathic system of medicine practices. During his postgraduate studies, he was taught by Prof. Dr B.G. Gopinath a famous Ayurvedic physician in India. Prof. Toshikhane practices in Ayurved includes (Medicine) Chikitsa, Panchakarma (Five therapeutic procedures) Ksharakarma (Corrosive Therapy), Agni karma (Cauterization Therapy), Rakta Mokshana (Blood Letting) and other related modalities. He has extensive knowledge in the management of Anorectal Disorders like Piles, Fistula, Fissure. Prof. Toshikhane has treated more than 3000 patients of such disorders.He has dynamically played a pivotal role in handling more than 100 plus patients through traditional fracture management techniquesnarrated in Ayurved Classics.
Dr Toshikhane is constantly working vigorously to uplift the healing science Ayurved through various researches. To his research experience credits, nearly 100 plus National and International articles published in Scopus indexed,UGC care list & Peer reviewed journals.75+ articles have been already published on Newspapers. Prof Toshikhane has guided22 MS dissertations in KLE University & Parul University. Also guided2 PhD thesisand 7 on-going PhD thesis in Parul University.Approximately 10+ projects has been undertaken and completed.He stood out and still executes his dynamic leadership as a Dean, Principal, Medical Superintendent, NABH Assessor, Steering committee member, NAAC coordinator, IQAC Chairman, Chairman, Board of Studies and member in various vital organizations.
