About
I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Biotechnology, with a strong foundation in research. My technical expertise spans multiple domains:
1. Environmental Microbiology & Sustainable Agriculture
Proficient in microbial ecology, biogeochemical processes, and the application of beneficial microbes to enhance nutrient use efficiency in crops under low-input conditions.
2. Bioelectrochemical Systems & Wastewater Treatment
Experienced in the use of microbial fuel cells and other bioelectrochemical systems for energy recovery and treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater.
3. Bioremediation
Conducted applied research on bioremediation of groundwater using organohalide-respiring microorganisms, with a focus on reductive dechlorination and the microbial consortia involved.
4. Bioinformatics Tools & Databases
Skilled in the use of nucleotide and protein databases such as NCBI, and various bioinformatics platforms including BLAST, ClustalW, BioEdit, MEGA5, OrthoVenn, TB Tools II, GenDoc, Sequin, Gene Structure Display Server (GSDS), PSORT, miRBase, psRNA Target Finder, Phytozome, TIGR, KOME, Oryzabase, Mfold.
Also, I am serving as a faculty advisor for B.Tech II year students. My current teaching responsibilities include Waste-to-wealth-to wheels, Vaccine Biotechnology, Metabolic Disorders, Biology, Immunology Lab and Molecular Biology Lab.
