Gastrointestinal physician with more than two decades of experience, extensively trained globally in Hepatology and Liver Transplant Medicine.

Underwent Transplant Hepatology Training at the Multi organ transplant Unit, University Health Network, Toronto, Canada, and PENN transplant Institute, Philadelphia , USA where he gained experience in all aspects of medical management of chronic liver disease in liver transplant setting- Pre liver transplant evaluation & post transplant follow up.
Interest in End Stage Liver Disease and Transplant Hepatology facilitated career progression into a formal training in portal hypertension; has undergone training in Portal Hypertension as senior clinical fellow in Hepatology with hepatic hemodynamics as focus at INSELSPITAL, the university hospital of Bern, Switzerland. This training tenure centered round management of advanced /end stage liver disease with portal hypertension (increased liver pressure) with exposure on procedures done in this patient population namely, Hepatic venous pressure gradient measurement (HVPG), transjugular liver biopsies(TJLB) and transjugular intrahepatic portosytemic shunt(TIPS) placement.

He has served as faculty at tertiary care teaching hospitals in India and abroad-JIPMER Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education &Research), Puduchery as Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, AIMS (Amrita Institute of Medical sciences), Kerala as Associate professor and consultant Transplant Hepatologist and has served the National health services, UK as Consultant Hepatologist at Queen Alexandra hospital, Portsmouth.
