About
I am a geologist, research scientist, petroleum explorer and incidental business leader with more than 15 years of experience in the upstream petroleum industry. My specializations and research interests are focussed on interaction between tectonics, sedimentation and associated petroleum systems elements, specifically, thermodynamic history of hyper-extended rifted and transform margins and its impact on petroleum systems.
My research and professional experience have taken a distinctly global outlook, with work in locations around the world. My most extensive work has been in India (East & West) and East Africa offshore, with additional experience in offshore Madagascar, Russian Arctic Shelves, Indian Ocean regions, Southern Australian Bight, East Antarctica, Appalachian Basin of North America, Zagros Fold Thrust Belts, South Oman Salt Basin, Andaman Basin and Myanmar offshore among others.
Apart from geoscience, my interests are quite diverse. It includes world literature, cosmology, politics, history, mythology, archaeology, psychology and many more. A travel enthusiast but equally homeward bound. A food lover, who loves to cook various local and international cuisines.
