About
I hold an MD in Health Informatics from the University of Colombo and was a Digital Health Fellow at Clinical Informatics Research Unit of the University of Southampton, UK.
I completed my MSc in Biomedical Informatics in 2012 and MD in health Informatics in 2019 with research work involving automated genome annotation and BYOD use in healthcare settings respectively. I have presented conference papers and made publications in peer review journals on many occasions on digital health-related themes.
I was the Chairman of the Expert Committee on eHealth Conference Organization of the Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka until 2020 January, which organises conferences annually with international participation in digital health including, Digital Health Week 2018, Commonwealth Medical Association 24th Triennial Conference 2016 and eHealth Asia 2015.
I am the key person in transforming the decade-old hospital information management system - a legacy system - in the third-largest hospital in Sri Lanka, The Teaching Hospital - Kurunegala, to a newly built hospital information system.
