About
Dr. Singh is an Associate Professor of Cropping Systems Agronomy and Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at Michigan State University. Dr. Singh’s research, extension, and teaching program focuses on current and emerging issues in cropping systems of Michigan and other northern regions with an overall goal to improve productivity, profitability, and resiliency of these systems. Variety selection and management strategies are explored in the context of climatic patterns, modern farming practices, and economic conditions. Current research is focused on management practices such as varietal canopy architecture, planting methods including the role of seed placement accuracy and row spacing, planting time and density, tillage systems, crop diversity, harvest decisions including the use of desiccants and grain drydown, and plant-pathogen interactions in corn-, soybean-, and wheat-based cropping systems.
