About
Pradyumn Chaturvedi received the Ph.D. degree from the National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, in 2010. He is currently working as an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India. He has published more than 90 research papers in international/national refereed journals and refereed international/national conferences. He has co-authored one book titled, “Modeling and Control of Power Electronics Converter System for Power Quality Improvements”, Academic Press, Elsevier Publisher. Dr. Chaturvedi is the Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education India, Senior Member of IEEE USA, Member of IET UK, and Member of International Association of Engineers.
Dr Chaturvedi completed 04 sponsored research projects and currently working on 03 Research Projects sponsored by DST-SERB Core Research Grant, India-Taiwan International Joint Research Program, India-EU Horizon 2020 Program on Integrated Local Energy Systems and DST IRHPA SERB Centre on Energy Transformation and Storage. Recently he received a project grant from ANRF under MAHA EV Mission to develop a High Power EV Charger for future E-Mobility with the Solid State Transformer technology. Dr. Chaturvedi organized 04 GIAN courses with foreign experts from USA, Japan and France.
Dr Chaturvedi is the Associate Editor, IEEE IES Industrial Electronics Technology News, ITeN; Secretary of IEEE PELS Technical Committee TC-12 on “Energy Access and Off-Grid Systems” (2023-24) and Chairperson, Resonant and Soft Switching Converter Subcommittee, IEEE IES Technical Committee of Power Electronics. He is also the Founder Chairperson, IEEE Bombay Section Joint Chapter of PELS-IES (Power Electronics Society and Industrial Electronics Society).
Dr. Chaturvedi is the Subgroup 1 Leader: IEEE Standard Association: P3105: Working Group on "Recommended Practices of Solid State Transformer for Grid Integration". Dr Chaturvedi is the Vice Chair of Technical Activity and R& D Committee of IEEE Smart Cities (2026-2027)
Dr. Chaturvedi is the Founder Organizer of IEEE International Conferences on Smart Technology for Power Energy and Control, STPEC-2020, STPEC-2021 & STPEC-2023 as Organizing Secretary, General Co-Chair and General Chair. Dr. Chaturvedi is the Technical Program Committee Chair of IEEE PEDES 2022 and Publication Chair of IEEE IES ONCON 2022. Dr Chaturvedi was the Special Session Chair in IEEE R10 Conference TENSYMP 2022. He was the TPC Chair in IEEE ECCE ASIA 2025 at Bengaluru & Publication Chair in INTELEC 2024 Bengaluru.
Dr Chaturvedi has been actively participating in various other reputed IEEE conferences/events in India and abroad such as IECON, PEDES, IICPE, ICIT, ECCE, APEC etc. as Special Session Chair, Technical Program Committee Chair and Organizing Secretary. He has delivered more than 50 Expert Talks in the area of Electrical Power and Energy with their Optimized Control.
His research interests include Microgrid, EV Charging Infrastructure, Solid State Transformer, Reliability in Power Electronics and Fault-Tolerant Converters, Modular Multilevel Converters.
