Dr Vishal Gupta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Venereology, AIIMS, New Delhi. He completed his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and his MD from AIIMS, New Delhi. He received the Dr KC Kandhari Book Prize Award for the best post-graduate student in 2013. He has more than 120 research publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals. His research project on alopecia areata received the best research award from the IADVL Academy as well as AIIMS Excellence award. He is the Associate Editor of the IJDVL, and has co-edited books on sexually transmitted infections and dermatopathology. His areas of interest include autoimmune blistering disorders, vitiligo, pediatric dermatology, complex medical dermatology and dermatopathology. His interests in these fields led him to attend the Pediatric dermatology course at Birmingham, United Kingdom, Dermatopathology observership at University of California, San Francisco, and International Society of Dermatology mentorship with Prof Dedee Murrell in Sydney, Australia.
