About
Dr. Aditya Kumar is a Minimal Access and General Surgeon currently serving as Assistant Professor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. His clinical and academic interests include Advanced Laparoscopic, Thoracoscopic & Robotic surgery for Upper GI, Thoracic, Bariatric, Hernia/AWR and General surgical disorders. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgical practice and is actively involved in clinical research, surgical innovation, and postgraduate training. His work focuses on improving outcomes in complex gastrointestinal, thoracic, hernia/abdominal wall and general surgical disorders through evidence-based and technology-driven surgical approaches.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FMAS), Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India (FAIS), and Fellow of the International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons (FCLS). He was awarded the prestigious SSAT Kaizencon Fellowship and completed advanced clinical training at the University of Chicago Medicine and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.
Dr. Kumar serves as the Section Editor for the Journal of Minimal Access Surgery and also reviews scientific literature for highly reputed national/international journals. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the form of book chapters, clinical trials and other original articles. He regularly contributes as faculty, speaker, moderator, and organizer at national and international surgical conferences and training programs.
Apart from his clinical and research work, Dr. Kumar is deeply involved in surgical education and academic leadership. He remains committed to world class quality in patient care, advancing minimally invasive and robotic surgery through research, innovation, collaborative learning, and mentorship of young surgeons.
