About
Dr. Nadeem Shabir is a Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance Early Career Fellow and also serves as as a scientist of vaccine biotechnology at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), India. He was awarded prestigious Chonbuk National University Doctoral fellowship and later received his Doctorate from College of Veterinary Medicine, Chonbuk National University, South Korea. Prior to his Doctorate, he received Master’s in Veterinary Sciences (Animal Biotechnology) and D.V.M degrees from Anand Agricultural University, India. He was awarded Early Career Fellowship by the prestigious Wellcome Trust DBT India Alliance for his proposed project on development of safe Infectious Bronchitis vaccine in 2019. He was also awarded the Early Career Research Award by Science and Engineering Research Board, GoI for a project proposal on development of genetically-stable Infectious Bursal Disease vaccine. Dr. Nadeem is recognized for development of a chimeric vaccine candidate possessing enhanced cross-protection against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), for which he was awarded the Best Research Award by Korean Society of Veterinary Sciences in 2013. He currently acts as referee of various prestigious veterinary science journals like Veterinary Microbiology, BMC Veterinary Research etc. He has also been a member of reputed scientific societies like American Society for Virology, International Pig Veterinary Society, and Korean Society of Veterinary Sciences etc.
