About
Dr. Lokendra Singh Umrao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He earned his B.Tech in Information Technology from KNIT, Sultanpur, M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from MANIT, Bhopal and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, and has over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and curriculum development.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain Technology, High Performance Computing, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Cloud Computing, IoT Security, and Intelligent Systems. He has published numerous research articles in reputed SCI/SCIE and Scopus-indexed journals, including The Journal of Supercomputing, Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications, Cluster Computing, Multimedia Tools and Applications, Information Security Journal, and the International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making. His recent research focuses on blockchain-enabled AI, federated learning, multimodal biometrics, cybersecurity, and smart city applications.
Dr. Umrao has successfully supervised Ph.D. and M.Tech. scholars and has been actively involved in organizing international conferences, faculty development programmes (FDPs), workshops, and short-term courses. He has delivered numerous keynote addresses, invited talks, and expert lectures on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Blockchain, Prompt Engineering, Machine Learning, High Performance Computing, and Research Methodology at universities and technical institutions across India.
He has held several important academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department, Convener of the Board of Studies, Research Degree Committee Convener, NAAC Coordinator, NPTEL Coordinator, Minor Degree Programme Coordinator, and various institutional leadership roles. He has also served as Session Chair for several prestigious international conferences and continues to contribute to academic quality assurance, curriculum design, and research governance.
Dr. Umrao is committed to advancing secure, trustworthy, and intelligent computing technologies through interdisciplinary research and academic collaboration. His current work emphasizes the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain for next-generation secure, decentralized, and privacy-preserving applications in smart cities, healthcare, and Industry 5.0.
