About
I am an Entomologist with a research focus on chemical ecology, plant–insect interactions, and integrated pest management (IPM).
I hold a PhD in Biological Sciences from IISER Kolkata, with research experience in insect chemical ecology, insect behavior, tri-trophic interactions, and the development of behaviorally mediated pest management strategies. My technical expertise includes chemical analysis using GC–MS and HPLC, insect rearing, behavioral and immunological assays, microscopy, biological control, and statistical analysis using R.
Currently, I work as an Activity Coordinator – Entomologist at ICARDA under the Consortium for Red Palm Weevil Control (C4RPWC) Program in the UAE. My work involves coordinating field activities, stakeholder engagement and meetings, monitoring pest populations and implementing and validating integrated pest management strategies for Red Palm Weevil.
My research interests lie at the intersection of chemical ecology and applied entomology, with a focus on translating scientific knowledge into practical, scalable, and sustainable IPM solutions.
