About
Dr. Sachin Puri has expertise in pharmaceutical chemistry, particularly in the development of novel New Chemical Entities (NCEs), in silico-based drug designing, and heterocyclic synthesis. His research interests focus on the structure-activity relationship (SAR) development, hit-to-lead library generation, functionalization of heterocyclic compounds, and cell line studies for anticancer and antiviral agents. Dr. Puri received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from Pune University.
He earned his master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, and a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from SVKM’s NMIMS University, Mumbai. His doctoral research was supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST-SERB) Govertment of india and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi), Geneva, Switzerland where he developed new drug candidates for leishmaniasis and SARS-CoV-2. He pursued his industry research at Aten porus Life Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and Piramal Discovery solution at Ahmedabad, Gujarat focusing on R&D synthesis. Dr. Puri's work includes significant contributions to the field, evidenced by his publications in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and the European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Best Thesis award, Junior Research Fellowship from DST-SERB and DNDi, and has two patents to his name among which one is granted.
Throughout his career, Dr. Puri has participated in numerous national and international conferences, presenting his research on drug discovery and development. His professional experience and dedication to pharmaceutical sciences have positioned him as a notable researcher in his field.
