About

Ratnakar R. Ghorpade is currently serving as a Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Dr.Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU) Pune. He did his post-graduation in Mechanical Engineering from VIT, Pune University in 2003. Since then he has been engaged in teaching & research. He received his PhD degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) in July 2017. His teaching experience spans more than 18 years, Research experience is about 5 Years and industrial experience is 2 years. He has guided 16 UG Projects, 16 PG students for their Projects and currently 6 students are pursuing PhD under his guidance at MITWPU. He was active member in framing curriculum of B. Tech. Mechanical-Robotics & Automation, A UG course (in 2018) as well as M. Tech. Mechanical Design Engg a PG course (in 2017, 2018 and 2019) at MITWPU.
He has authored several research papers which have been published in national & international journals (17 nos) as well as in the proceedings of conferences (23 nos) in India. He is also the author of books, titled, ‘Tribology’, ‘Robotics Fundamentals’, ‘Robotics’, 'Strength of Machine Elements', 'Design of Machine Elements', 'Theory of Machines' and 'Mechanical System Design' for undergraduate & postgraduate Engineering courses under Pune University. He is also a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education and Society of Automotive Engineers, India.
His areas of research interest include, CAD, Finite Element Methods, Robotics, Tribology, Biomaterials and Biomedical Devices. Also he is working on interdisciplinary projects viz. Numerical & experimental investigations on Dental Implant-bone interface, Developing a Biomedical device for Root canal Obturation.
