About
Dr. Saikat Basu obtained his Master of Engineering in Software Engineering from Jadavpur University. He did his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Dr. Basu joined this University on 12.11.2007 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering as Lecturer. Before joining this University, he was Assistant Director in Software Technology Parks of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Govt. of India.
Dr. Basu had also worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. B. C Roy Engineering College, Durgapur. He started his career as a lecturer at the Haldia Institute of Technology in 2003.
Dr. Basu has more than 17 years of academic experience in the areas of Digital Electronics and Logic Design, Data Structure and Algorithm, Computer Organization, Operating Systems, Data Communication, Networking, Internet Technology, Cryptography, and Network Security, System Software, Network Security, Software Quality Management, etc. in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
In his prolonged academic career, Dr. Basu has guided more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate projects so far. His research interests include but are not limited to Machine learning, Cryptography, Security, the Internet of Things, Medical Informatics and Cloud Computing, etc.
He has memberships of various professional bodies such as IEEE, etc. He is a prestigious editor of the renowned book “Digital Logic and Computer Design” by M. Morris Mano.
He is also the reviewer of many reputed journals, book chapters, and conferences at present.
Dr. Basu had received National Scholarships in both 10th (100th Rank in Madhyamik) and 12th (181st Rank in H.S) standards in his earlier life.
