About
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Nag earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Manufacturing Engineering on 9th November 2024 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, where he also completed his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Materials Technology in 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from The Institution of Engineers (India) (2014) and a four-year Diploma in Tool and Die Making from Indo-Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur (2012), establishing a strong foundation in precision engineering.
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Nag recently served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & IT at ARKA JAIN University, where he was actively involved in teaching, student mentoring, project supervision, curriculum development, and departmental administration. He also contributed to institutional growth through his participation in quality assurance initiatives, NBA and NAAC accreditation activities, and academic excellence programs. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology, where he was engaged in academic instruction, curriculum design, laboratory development, and accreditation coordination.
Dr. Nag’s research focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and failure analysis of advanced materials, including sustainable composites, bio-composites, polymers, nanomaterials, and metallic alloys. His expertise extends to additive manufacturing (3D printing) and the application of these materials in green technologies, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy systems, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach that bridges materials science, engineering, and sustainability.
Beyond research, he has collaborated with leading industries, including ABB, GE Power, Tata Motors, and TML Drivelines, contributing to innovations in electrification, industrial power systems, metallurgy, and supply chain optimization. His scholarly contributions include several high-impact SCI/SCIE-indexed peer-reviewed journal articles, multiple Book Chapters published by reputable international publishers, and presentations at prominent international conferences. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several esteemed international journals and holds more than four patents, reflecting his commitment to advancing both academic knowledge and practical technological solutions.
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Nag is a distinguished Associate Member and Chartered Engineer (CEng.) of The Institution of Engineers (India) and a Life Member of the Institute of Scholars, and The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), reflecting his sustained commitment to academic excellence and professional development. He has actively participated in several academic seminars and national-level faculty development initiatives, including AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) programs and the Malviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP), organized by leading Centrally Funded Technical Institutions across India. In addition, he has served as an Invited Speaker and delivered Expert Talks at multiple universities and higher education institutions, contributing to faculty development, research discourse, and student enrichment activities.
