About
I am a medical microbiologist with a strong focus on tuberculosis, zoonotic infections, and molecular diagnostics, working at the interface of clinical microbiology, public health, and One Health research. My academic and research interests include Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) lineage diversity, zoonotic tuberculosis (including Mycobacterium bovis, M. orygis, and M. caprae), and the application of cost-effective molecular platforms for infectious disease surveillance in resource-limited settings.
I have led and contributed to multiple laboratory-based research projects involving real-time PCR, ELISA, and genomics-driven approaches for the detection of respiratory and zoonotic pathogens. My work emphasizes translational diagnostics, operational feasibility, and policy-relevant evidence, particularly in rural and underserved populations in India. I am actively involved in developing and evaluating low-cost molecular workflows, including repurposing existing diagnostic platforms for expanded public health utility.
In addition to tuberculosis research, I have academic interests in respiratory pathogens, emerging viral infections, and maternal–child health–related infectious diseases. I regularly contribute to postgraduate medical education, delivering lectures for MD Microbiology trainees on topics such as mycobacterial genomics, poxviruses, and laboratory diagnostics.
My long-term goal is to strengthen integrated human–animal laboratory surveillance through One Health frameworks and to contribute evidence that informs national diagnostic strategies and infectious disease control programs.I want to use this knowledge and platform to develop certain risk maps for many diseases, which can minimize outbreaks and epidemics. Moreover, I don’t want to keep the idea or knowledge with me alone, so that simpler techniques and databases can be made which can be layered on any disease format to demonstrate every relation with the important parameters.
