About
Previous works involved development of thin film deposition systems using rf, dc sputtering and ECR-CVD techniques and in conducting research work using them. Performed research work using the systems which focused on growth of wide and ultrawide bandgap nanostructured thin films such as ZnO, ZnO-Ag, nc ZnO-SiOx, SnO2, Zn2SiO4-SiOx and nano-diamond material. Results include increase in photocurrent by 3-4 orders of magnitude under DUV light illumination and decrease in dark current by 2-4 order of magnitude due to ion irradiation. Was also involved in collaboration works with university faculty members on materials grown using rf sputtering, dc sputtering and ball milling systems and their ion irradiation induced modifications. Also, mentored students of IUAC Summer Project Programme for B.Sc. (Physics) Students (7), M Sc Orientation Programme students (2) and final semester projects of M.Sc/M.Tech students (3).
Involved in ion beam related materials science research in collaboration with university users. The research interests are on ion beam induced modification of nanocrystalline materials having gas, humidity, optical sensor applications.
The different research works resulted in ~ 60 publications in refereed journals and received 728 citations with an h-index of 17. Performed ~ 135 reviews for ~ 35 reputed journals published by IOP Publishing, Elsevier, Nature Publishing group, Annex publishers and World Scientific publishers.
